Standard processing
Standard applications are usually completed within a few working days once materials are complete and the itinerary is settled. Processing time counts from the point the materials pass review and enter declaration; it does not include time spent supplementing documents by the traveller, nor weekends and public holidays.
Express processing
Express applications shorten the cycle through priority acceptance and priority declaration, and suit travellers who finalise plans close to departure. Express does not change the material requirements — if documents are incomplete, the actual issue date moves accordingly.
What affects speed
- Completeness of materials: clear document photos and exact consistency with the document are the main accelerators.
- Certainty of itinerary: undecided dates, routes or accommodation slow declaration down.
- Season and holidays: volumes concentrate in peak season and around long holidays, so cycles may lengthen.
- Border-area itineraries: routes involving a border pass need an extra declaration step.
How far ahead to apply
For ordinary itineraries, submit with ample margin before the entry date; during peak season and holidays, earlier still. Itineraries touching border areas need extra time for the border pass. If you are submitting close to departure, choose express and confirm acceptance is still possible.
Cases that cannot be processed
Documents with insufficient validity, itineraries that seriously conflict with the declared information, or materials that still cannot be reconciled after repeated supplementation may not be completed. In such cases we contact the traveller to explain and handle it accordingly.
